Meet Bonnie a doodle mix (possibly labradoodle) available in St. Pete, FL. Bonnie was pulled from Pinellas County Animal Services (PCAS) after being found as a stray. The shelter said she was approximately 8 years old, however, we think she may be younger and just seemed older due to her condition when she arrived at the shelter. We think Bonnie was likely a breeder that was disposed of when no longer needed :( She's currently 35 lbs but likely should be about 45lbs. PCAS did an amazing job taking care of her! She got to the shelter with an infection in one of her eyes that unfortunately had to be removed, her teeth were filthy but she got a dental, she was emaciated (we are working on putting on some weight), she had pyometra (but has since been spayed!) and an ear infection. Even through all of this Bonnie has been a sweetheart.
According to her foster dads Bonnie is a gem! She is craving attention and has bonded to one of her foster dads in particular. She likes to nip at your clothes or hand to get your attention. She seems potty trained and sleeps in her crate with no issues. She is currently fostered with three dogs - two larger poodle and a tiny mini poodle and does fine although she does want daddy's full attention on her and sometimes lets them know such. Bonnie will definitely need a fenced yard as loves to romp and prefers to go potty off leash.
Bonnie goes back to the vet to get her sutures removed from her eye on May 7th and will be ready to go home soon after that. If you are interested in Bonnie and meet our adoption guidelines please fill out an application at:
