It's been one month since we got Hilda. She now feels like she's been part of our family for ages... not just one month.... She is adapting very well to our lifestyle. She knows when I go to work, when the girls are coming home, when everyone gets home, etc. She listens well and learns really quickly.

I think the chewing problem is curtailed. We are in the process of checking this, so far she has been passing with flying colors. We are taking this a little slow as we don't want to loose any more shoes but it's looking good that she has gotten the message and won't chew up anything that we don't give her to chew.

Yesterday we were at a thrift shop that allowed her to come in with me. All I had to do was chat with her telling her that she had to be very careful, especially with her tail, as they have crystal and all kinds of breakables at her level and she needed to be aware of all those things. She was absolutely perfect! She stayed right at my side and didn't upset a thing. Quite amazing as that place has three floors of tightly packed things everywhere. As usual, she was very friendly with everyone in the store and many of the customers were petting her and commenting on what a good dog she is...

When she first arrived to our house, you couldn't touch her back end. Now I massage her all the way down her back legs and she really likes it. She is still very sensitive about her back legs and won't let most people touch them, but the four of us in our family are permitted...

We've been introducing her to other dogs slowly. She still has a ways to go on that front but she's getting a lot better. It depends upon the dog, some dogs that are slow to meet and gentle, work. But the fast paced "sniff quick" dogs are too much for her still.

She's been introduced to horses. My daughter and I ride and we want her to learn to come with us. It looks like she is going to take to this well, but we're still in the early stages of developing this part.

All in all, she is a wonderful addition to our family and everyone has fallen in love with her...and vice versa we believe... I'll have to work on teaching her to type and get her opinion... LOL
