Shiloh is the luckiest Doodle Boy! Today he met his forever family, Debbie and John Stratton. They are heading back home to Georgia, where Shiloh will have a beautiful sister Doodle, Gracie. Welcome Debbie, John, and Gracie to the DRC family. And Shiloh- the Linnells will miss you. You are a sweet boy…
This afternoon we cleaned up some branches from our crepe myrtle trees. Shiloh was a really good helper.

It was time to give Barcley one of his summer haircuts. This is the aftermath. It looks like a massacre has happened in the yard. I wish i could take half of this fur from Barcley and weave some sort of doggy toupee for Lucky's back.…Continue
We walk Lucky several times a day, just loops around the backyard. We want to increase his stamina and build up to longer walks. He is an excellent leash walker, no additional training will be necessary there. As soon as we show him the leash, he stops and waits for it to be put on. It is obvious that he has had some good training.
I'm glad to have a teenage daughter that loves to help with his fostering. Lucky and Abbey (teenage daughter) sure like each other.…Continue
This week we met Lucky, our first foster for DRC. Lucky was rescued from the street in Bessemer City, NC by Judy and she has cared for him for 2 1/2 months. When she pulled him off the street, he was hairless and malnourished. But, with Judy's care he has gained 12 lbs. so far. This week he has joined the DRC family and has come to live…Continue
We were playing with a new camera while Barcley was playing in the yard!
1 year ago today we added this sweet little dood to our family. He has been such a joy in so many ways! Thanks so much DRC and mama Krista for this gift!!!Continue
This Thanksgiving, we are so thankful to have Barcley in our lives. He is a loving and faithful member of our family and we are truly blessed to have him. We took Barcley on a trip to the beach with us this fall, and, like the rest of the family, he likes the beach as much as the…Continue
Barcley continues to do terrific after his successful heartworm treatment. For his latest adventure, he enjoyed a morning of hiking at Chimney Rock near Lake Lure, NC. Barcley hiked all the way to the top and back and then down the Hickory Nut Falls trail and back. He loved the hike but was a tired pup at the end. He also made a lot of new friends along the way!
Barcley still has no idea how much higher up we have to…Continue
For Memorial day weekend we took a trip to Hendersonville, NC to play in the waterfalls. And as you can imagine Barcley and daughter Abbey had a blast. We also went to a street festival in Brevard, NC and I swear we were stopped about every 20 steps with folks commenting on our beautiful, adorable dog and also asking about the breed. We shared Barcleys' wonderful story of heartworm positive to happy, healthy dog with many many people! Lots of these… Continue
