Where are you located?
Anaheim, CA
Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:
We are a family with an aging labrador looking to add some doggie youth to our home.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs as an adult, with vet records in your own name (not parents' names)?
We have a 12.5 yr old male lab, Riley, who is a big guy at 95 lbs, neutered
We also have a small 2 yr old female black/white Tuxedo cat, Mittens, that we adopted when she was 4 months old, spayed.
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
We like dogs that like water, have energy and would love a little less shedding than our current lab.
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
Not previously, but between Michelle Long and Liz Searing, we are now!

Meet Biscuit, formerly Sea Biscuit!

We were asked to foster Sea Biscuit the week before Thanksgiving.  He was being rehomed due to family health issues.  Being the responsible family they were, they contacted DRC to arrange for him to be rehomed and didn't just dump him at the local shelter.  We made arrangements to pick him up in Los Angeles and then spent 2…

Meet Max

Max is an almost 10 month old labradoodle that was rehomed by his family on Dec 24th.  Michele, in Los Angeles, picked him up after he was listed as "free" on Craigslist.  We received him from Michele on Dec 26th.  He had become too large for his previous owner's apartment and Grandma, who watches the children, was having a hard time with how big and strong he had become.  He is right around 50 lbs and still growing!  He is black in…

Figaro has found his forever home!!!

Posted on January 3, 2011 at 1:50pm 6 Comments

What a wonderful way to start the new year!!  I met with both families that were interested in Figaro and his forever family has been chosen!  I had the great pleasure of calling Frances and Jim and telling them the great news!  We met on Sunday, Jan 2 and after the "debriefing", Figaro jumped into the back of their brand new SUV that they purchased so they would have room for transporting both of their doodles.  What a motivated family!…

Figaro had a great vet check and is ready for his forever home!

Well, after 2 1/2 long weeks with the dreaded cone on, Figaro has finally been released from wearing the cone!  The vet removed most of the stitches from his lower eyelids other than the ones that had to be replaced after he broke them scratching around the cone.  He is SOOOOO happy without the cone!  He spent the first 5 minutes running around the house like a crazy dog!  Probably doggie for "jumping for joy".   HIs eyes look AMAZING!…
