I'm 67 and I have been thinking about what would happen to my doodles if something happens to me. I have no family and would leave enough funds to take care of my doodles. I just don't want them going to a shelter. I thought about your group and hope that maybe you could help when I go. I would of course leave it all in writing that could not be contested.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs as an adult, with vet records in your own name (not parents' names)?
EllieMae is a 2yr old mini labradoodle. Shes titled in Agility, Obedience and Rally. She's outgoing and has never met a stranger.
GoodGollyMissMolly is a throw away that I took. She's 3mo old suppose to be a labradoodle (that's to be seen) She's a cutie and loves everyone
If you are looking to adopt a doodle, why have you chosen this mix?
No but willing to Foster
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
Julie, you need to fill out the foster application to transport also. If you aren't interested in fostering, put that you signed up to transport and that is what you are interested in right now - find one of the boxes you can write in.
Thanks, did you fill out an application to foster? You should have gotten an auto response. I forwarded your name to our California Director also. Apparently the DRC has two volunteers, screening foster apps, checking references etc and they are very bogged down. I will re-send your name to our Ca. person to see if things could move faster. Did you sign up to be part of doodle transport? If you want to do that go to the volunteer section and sign up in the California discussion http://doodlerescue.org/group/thedoodletrain/forum/topics/california-1
Julie, we will be happy to re-home your doodles if/when needed. Leave written instructions with someone you trust that you wish your doodles to be re-homed through our organization. Leave contact information for us. I hope you never need it! Join doodlekisses also and meet thousands of us! I am in California also and we are dire need for fosters so get that application in. In the meantime, I will forward your name to our California coordinator.
Welcome, Julie. Do you belong to doodlekisses.com? It is a world wide organization of doodle owners/lovers. We have debated this often - so much so that other members have shared what arrangements they have come up with and some cyberfriends have made arrangements among themselves. I am going to forward this to one of our directors because I don't think you are the first one to put in a will that the dogs are to be re-homed by the DRC with contact information, but I do not have any details.
As to fostering, we always need fosters, so please fill out the application and sent it in.
