I just want to stay involved and help the DRC when I can. What a great organization!
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs as an adult, with vet records in your own name (not parents' names)?
I have a 3 yo mini goldendoodle named Peri and an 8 yo chihuahua named Taquito. Peri is the greatest dood on earth. Taquito is the greatest chi on earth. Together they are my choodle and will hopefully be good siblings to their human sister Charlotte due 10/3/12.
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
I got Peri from a breeder in the Middle Tn area. I chose a doodle purely based on their temperaments. My inlaws have one and I fell in love. She sheds like crazy, so I knew what I was getting into. However, I got lucky and Peri does not shed. She is the best dog on the planet (besides Taquito!).
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
I try to donate money when I can, especially when there are doodles with major health problems.
I am unable to foster due to work schedule (and expecting first child due 10/12). But if transportation is needed, I will do my best to help. I also donate when I can.
Hi Allyson! Pippin is doing great. We have placed him with a great family - ours! Our first Foster Failure! But there is something so special about him that we couldn't part with him. Sometime when we do the doodle train south, we'll have to bring him and maybe he and Peri can meet!
I'd love to know how he ended up in the shelter too, but they didn't give us his intake papers so we don't know if he was a surrender or a stray. He's clipped, but didn't have a mat on him. His teeth were bad and they had to clean them, and he had horrible ear infections in both ears. Worms, of course, but not heartworm! Other than that he looks great! He doesn't know any obediance other than to sit for a treat. He's so good and sweet though!
Allyson, He does look allot like Peri! He's just the cutest little guy, and so sweet! It would be interesting if Pip and Peri actually came from the same breeder. I have him scheduled to be groomed on Friday and will take more pictures then. I do think he's a goldendoodle and not a labradoodle, judging from his coat.
HI Allyson, Cash made it here to Indianapolis, but flying him up ending falling through. However one of the pilot's wife arranged transport and got him all the way up to about an hour south of Indy! He is doing great and settling in nicely with his new foster family. He's begun treatment for heartworms...this is the easy stage...just antibiotics...next month he gets his shots and will need to be kept quiet for awhile. So keep him in your thoughts. I'm sure his foster mom will be posting a blog soon! And thank you again for your support and willingness to help us out...I really, really appreciate it!!!
