Where are you located?
Seattle Washington
Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:
My husband and I are live near Seattle Wa. We both love dogs and see them as a part of our family. We have a main on cat and a Goldendoodles currently and are looking to add another Goldendoodles to our family. Our Goldendoodles is 10 months old and we are looking for a sister for Linus. We have a large fenced yard to play and burn off energy.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs in the past? Any other pets?
We have had dogs in the past. Sally was our first Goldendoodles and recently passed at the age of 16 years. We also had a Lahasa Apso who passed after Sally at the age of 15. We currently have a Main Coon cat and a 10 math old Goldendoodles named Linus.
If you are looking to adopt a doodle, why have you chosen this mix?
Doodles have the best disposition and just want to love and be loved. The two we have had are so affectionate and sweet, how could you not.
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
We are not involved currently. We are open to volunteering but not familiar with the needs and we live in WA state.

Welcome to the DRC website.
Here is a ‘must read’ article with information you should know before you apply to adopt a doodle: Here is a link to our adoption guidelines which include that you must have owned a dog before and also supply a vet reference. Please read the guidelines before filling out an application to make sure that you meet them. The application itself is at the top of any page, but here is a link: The application doesn’t obligate you in any way but it opens the lines of communication with the adoption coordinator. Quite often, a new dog who comes into the program is adopted before he/she is ever listed, because our adoption coordinator is aware of a good approved applicant who would be a good match for that dog. However once you have an approved application on file, if you see a dog under the DRC’s care (either on the DRC Facebook page, home page or on our home page) that you feel would be a good fit for your family, an e-mail can be sent to: stating that there is an application on file and you would like to be considered for (name of dog).

When looking at the adoptable dogs here, Petfinder, or our FaceBook page, notice the two letters in front of the dog’s name mean the state they are being fostered in. While the DRC allows out of state applicants, they cannot transport the rescues and will not let them fly, so adopters need to be within driving distance to pick the dog up. We also have a FaceBook page where our fosters often post before the doodles are listed on PetFinder.

Here is some additional information:
1. This is an interesting article that points out dog breed differences genetically, especially mixed breed dogs like doodles:
2. This is an article on what a doodle really is:
3. Here is a helpful article on how to find a doodle on Petfinder and in shelters:
4. GOOGLE shelters and humane societies within your driving range. Check their sites often.
