Joyce, I am sorry you need to re-home your doodle. Have you contacted the breeder? The very first thing that must be done is to contact the breeder. All reputable breeders have a clause in their purchase contracts stating that they must be contacted prior to transferring ownership of the dog. The very best breeders will take the dog back; most will give their permission for the dog to be re-homed through a reputable organization like DRC, but they must be given that option. If you cannot get in touch with the breeder then, here is a link to the re-home guidelines; http://doodlerescue.org/notes/DRC_REHOME_GUIDELINES And the link to the rehome application: http://doodlerescue.org/page/rehome-assistance-form which can be found at the top of the page. I will send an e-mail to our re-homing coordinator. Here is a link to our rehome guidelines: http://doodlerescue.org/notes/DRC_REHOME_GUIDELINES If you do decide that to surrender the doodle, the next step is to submit a rehome application: http://doodlerescue.org/page/rehome-assistance-form The rescue must have full disclosure, including vet records, before accepting a dog into the program.
