Julia’s Journey!

Sweet Julia and adorable Webster had a three-leg journey to Indianapolis a week ago Tuesday.  Our favorite and always willing to transport Kyoko Henson picked up three puppies from a puppy mill in northern Ohio, Vanessa went to Pittsburgh, Julia and Webster continued their the journey to Indianapolis via the super incredible Sue Cooper.  Sue and I met in Springfield, OH at 10:30 pm…Webster of course pooped in his crate in Sue’s car…I don’t know how she made the three hour drive to meet me with the awful smell of the puppies in addition to the smell of poop!  Somehow Sue and I manage to fit a crate inside my Mini Cooper to put stinky, poop covered Webster in the crate and tethered Julia with a leash in the back.  And off we went to Indianapolis.  Two and half hours later gagging for fresh air (I thought I would never get the stench out of my nose!) we arrived in Indianapolis where the puppies got a much-needed bath (at 1am!) and met my pack of 4 (2 doodles and 2 corgis).  With a little food and water in their bellies, they went fast to sleep in a very large crate together and I didn’t hear a peep from them all night.

Am I delicious or what?!?!  Check out my big beautiful nose!!

Bright and early the next morning off we went to the vet for a professional groom (they were still very stinky even after a bath) and all of their vaccines.  Julia was diagnosed with Entropian in one eye (a condition where the eyelid turns in and rubs the on the eye).  Julia had a very weepy eye and would blink alot…you could tell she was in discomfort.  Otherwise Julia is in perfect health.  Webster is in perfect health as well and met his new foster mom at the vet.  Webster, I think was the vet’s favorite, she thought he was the cutest doodle I had ever brought in…in fact if she didn’t have 7 dogs of her own I think Webster would have been going home with her!

Julia has blossomed in my house.  She is such sweet gentle soul who loves to give big doodle kisses, play with my doodles and settle down nicely for a quick nap before she is off and running again.  She is quite the busy girl but manages to keep herself entertained with the multitude of toys and bones in my house.  We are working on housebreaking, she has the peeing outside down, but we are still working on pooping outside.  She seems to really enjoy my area rugs for doing her pooping business.  She quickly learned that going into her crate means that she gets a big treat, a pat on the head and lots of praise.  I am working on her other manners but she already knows sit to wait for her bowl of food to be set down!  She walks well on a leash so far, but she hasn't had a chance to get to excited yet!

Could you just die looking at me?!!?

Today Julia and Webster met again at the vet’s office.  Julia went in for her spay and eye surgery while Webster went in for his neuter.  Both came through with flying colors and while in recovery Webster moved to be closer to Julia and nestled his face inside her cone of shame, licking her face and paws.  Best friends together again!

Julia will have no long-term ramifications from her eye surgery and her eye will be as good as new!

Julia will be ready for new forever family soon and she will make a wonderful addition to the right home!

My full body shot of beauty! :)

Julia was adopted on Sunday, June 19, 2011.  She was adopted by Stacey and Scott Petcu of Indianapolis.  She now has two doggie sisters and is living happily ever after in her new forever home.  She has a beautiful yard to romp in until her heart is content complete with a baby pool and ducks and birds who visit everyday!!

Stacey and Scott are owners of two Three Dog Bakery stores here in Indianapolis...I think Julie hit the lottery...unlimited treats, new toys, and great food!  She will enjoy her new position as official toy, treat and food tester for new products at the Petcus!!

Here is a picture of the happy family.

I did fill out an application for a different dog, if you can take a look at that? Not sure if that is do-able. Thanks!
