Rudy the red F1bb labradoodle foster arrived at our home on Sunday night. He is a puppy ( although at 45 lbs) and 26 inches tall ( at the shoulder), you wouldn't believe he is only 11 months old.

Rudy is a re-home. He was purchased from a very reputable breeder in VA and taken to a home with an older doodle.  Rudy has the typical puppy energy and got into some elastic that caused him to have emergency surgery, not once but twice. He was returned to the breeder who gave him to DRC to find a forever home for him. I have all of his paperwork, including his blood lines. He is neutered, chipped and absolutely beautiful!  A non-shedder fleecy coated doodle with brown eyes, black nose and brown pads.  His tail has a curve to it, with long curly hair.  He needs to be brushed almost daily to prevent mats, so be prepared for some maintenance.

He is the color of a cinnamon stick, the pictures show him as golden, but he is really cinnamon colored. He is a lover- loves to jump on you ( paws on shoulders) and give doodle kisses.  He is high energy, not a lot of barking so far. Content in stress situations though, we went to the vet today for his ears and a nail clip and he laid down and napped!   He knows sit, and lay, and we are teaching him to shake and give me 5. He is doing really well on the gentle leader and walking too.

So far, no counter surfing, just lots of playing with my Bailey and Bella.  He is a real charmer, and will do great with a forever family who can keep scrunchies and elastic away from him but let him run, play!  I think he will do best with a family who has children and another doodle to keep him company.

Rudy had 2 surgeries. Feb 2011 and Sept 2010. He is doing fine, no problems eating.  I use Blue Buffalo brand ( without grains) and have just tried Solid Gold  Wolf King (Bison).  I use the list posted over at Doodle Kisses for good brands of Dog food.  here is the link for is Doodle Kisses food list.

We are going to miss Rudy- he gives great doodle kisses  and loves to nibble on our ears!

Here is a great picture of him jumping- he is amazing

Diane, how long ago were Rudy's surgeries? I'm guessing he's pretty resilient but wondering if he's having any medical ramifications from them.  Also,  I've been reading into a better brand of food for my dog- may I ask what you feed your dogs?

Diane, thanks for getting him ready for his forever home.  He is truly beautiful.  I certainly am sorry that his original family couldn't figure out how to keep elastics away from him, but I am sure it will work out better in the long run.

He's a cutie for certain!  I'm grateful the former owners did the right thing in returning him to the breeder, and that the breeder in turn came to us.  I know in the care of a great foster parent he'll become an awesome dog and will go to just the right family!  He's Rudy-licious!
