Meet Georgie!

Georgie is my newest foster.  He's a sweet male goldendoodle that was rescued by DRC two weeks ago here in Georgia.

The picture below shows him…

Hershey Kisses and Hugs

Meet Hershey - my last foster. Is that not a face to love???  Hershey has been with my pack for about 5 weeks now and fits in like he was born to it.  Hershey is a 1 1/2 year old chocolate Labradoodle (with a touch of white on his chest and a little gotee) that was found as a stray in a shelter in south Georgia.  Can't say that he barks with a southern accent…

Chance and His Forever Family

Yesterday was a red letter day in Chance's life.  He was Adopted!!!  The Luten family in Elkmont, Alabama met Chance and made him theirs.  The Lutens have a chocolate Chesapeake Bay Retreiver named Max who is as big as Chance but heavier.  They had applied for Chance back in Januarywhen he was first with the DRC, but didn't get him.  This was their "Second Chance" for…

Meet Chance

I just can't say enough about Chance, my latest foster.  Chance came to live with me and my fur boys on Saturday from his foster Mom Kristen in Alabama.  Kristen is getting married this week and was going to have to board Chance while all that was taking place.  But as the DRC volunteers always do, she put him first and put out a call for a home.  That's where Jeannine and Jacquie came in, and me, too.

Chance, so I was told,  suffers from separation anxiety when he is the…

Angus's Forever Home

Angus has just left for his trip to Norfolk VA with his forever new mom, Donna. While I'm sad and a bit teary to say goodbye, Angus was ready to go as long as there was a rawhide or antler involved in the transfer, too. Angus will have a new fur brother Rocco, a Bichon/Poodle mix and a new sister, 8 year old Rylee who is dying to meet him. Rylee even picked out matching red sweaters for her two "boys" We'll see if one is big enough for the Angus-boy. I heard that maybe his new name may be "Gus"… Continue

Angus McDoodle is the latest foster (I believe) to DRC. Angus was originally named "Sprite" but when you see him he's more of a Lug than a Sprite. Angus came to us from Maysville, TN on Monday and I picked him up from Linda Rudder (Fitz's aka Scottie's adoptive Mom) on Tuesday. I don't know if its just me or these Tennessee boys are very well fed for being "strays." Angus is a dream. He's friendly, clean, playful, already neutered, and housebroken.…

Winston's Adopted

Today Winston went to his new forever home with Patrick and LeAnne Nichol in Smyrna, Georgia. In case you are not familiar with Atlanta that's a suburb that about 15 mintues from me. Yay! He has a wonderful family and will be the only pet they have. He has a fenced in back yard that was reinforced today to keep him inside. With all that love, why would he want to go anywhere else. Thanks to everyone who submitted an application. It was a really tough decision but Winston really needed to be…

Winston - 1.5 Weeks Later

Just wanted to bring things up to date with Winston before someone snatches him up. Winston had to return to the vet last Friday. His neutering incision had become infected and when the vet went to clean out the infection, found that he was actually a little gangrene. Uck! The Collier Road vets opened him up, cleaned him out of all the infection, removed all the dead tissue and restitched. He's on antibiotics until next Friday, but he's a different dog. His personality is coming out. He's…

My First Foster - Winston Day One

I'm not real good at this whole blogging thing, but I wanted to share about my first foster - Winston. Winston is such a sweet boy that he's probably ruined me for any other "more desperate" fosters to come.

I picked Winston up in Chattanooga last night. He was dropped off at a shelter, Monroe County Animal Shelter in Madisonville, TN on Wednesday the 29th. I don't know why yet, but I'm goin to try to find out. Well, the shelter is run by one of the nicest woman you'll ever…
