Casey & Caleb

As promised here are a few photos of the Casey & Caleb.  They have adjusted well and they are taking over the household.  The first picture are the guys playing our daily tennis ball chase, the second picture is resting on the den floor with our cat while hurricane Irene was blowing through and the third picture are the guys on our deck after they made us chase them with all of the branches they picked up after the hurricane.… Continue

Life With Our Foster Miley

Miley joined us on August 6th severely underweight, scared to death and only 9 months old.  During the first 8 months of her life Miley received little to no socialization or training which makes everything seem so much scarier.

Miley is making progress daily, has gained 4 pounds and is a sweetheart.  Until…

OMD! I have my first FOSTER! *** UPDATED 9/5/11

Believe it or not, I have been a proud member of Doodle Kisses for about 15 months and have never started a discussion or written a blog.  Sure, I have added comments to several hundred pictures and to numerous discussions and blogs, but I guess you can call me more of a "lurker" than a "contributor" to the website.  Most people on DK know so much more about training and food and all other things "doodley" so I have taken a backseat and have read and learned and just enjoyed being a part of…

This is my favorite picture  - the two rescue boys.

Sunny is perfectly crate trained for more than just night time.  He hates and attacks vacuums so I crated him while I cleaned and he just napped until I was done.  Yay!

He is doing very…

Curly in Ohio - Watch him in action!

Here is a video of my foster, Curly. It isn't the best video but it shows this goofy guy in action.  (Next time I make a video, I'll try not to talk.  I sound terrible!  Good thing you can turn down the volume!)

To find out more about Curly here is a link to his Petfinder profile.  Curly is being fostered in Lima, Ohio.

Sunny got off to a rough start - mats, fleas, ticks, torn off nail, kennel cough, neutering, neutering infection (had to wear the dreaded cone for three weeks!). After having him for only ten days, his 'rescuer' fell and broke her hip and was unable to continue caring for him. My daughter kept Sunny for those first weeks. Sunny and her lab quickly bonded with each other. When she had to leave to work in another town, Sunny came to us. Sunny loves our dogs too and we have doodle wrestling and…

A brave little Maltese

We don't have any Rescue Doodles living with us at this time because of an influx of Rescue Maltese from the L.A., Compton Shelter that we have to keep isolated from the rest of our dogs due to kennel cough.

I do want to share this video of Peli who I met at the Apple Valley, California, Animal Shelter; which, compared with many other shelters, is a wonderfully clean and caring facility.

Peli was found as a stray wantering the streets of Apple Valley…

advice needed!

I am "babysitting" for a friend's dog, a mini poodle who gets along great with Ginger. She is a few years older (we think about 9?), and although she is well loved at home, her "mom" is on a limited budget. It is apparent this little dog needs dental work (and some grooming), maybe even tooth extractions. I don't know if she is in pain, but I do know she (being so small) has trouble eating her large kibble (the cheapest). Her fur is very thin, you can see her skin everywhere, nails very…
