Farmington, CT
Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:
We are a "two Doodle family"...our oldest ALD. Guinness is one year, and we have a five month old puppy (Murphy) who was a DRC rehome. We are retired now, and our Doodles are a huge part of our lives.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs as an adult, with vet records in your own name (not parents' names)?
Our Doodles are Awesome! Guinness is a mini ALD who is now finishing up his Therapy Dog training and visits an Alzheimer's facility each week. It's incredibly rewarding for me, and he seems to love the attention. Our puppy, Murphy, is a rehome who came to us through DRC. He's a standard cream Doodle who is goofy and so funny. He's just passed his AKC puppy class, and he was a star! We think Murph will also make a great therapy dog, and we'll be moving in that direction with the next phase of his training.
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
We got our first Doodle from Grandview Labradoodles (a breeder of ALDs in VT). We were very happy with this experience, but we knew that we wanted our next dog to be a rescue. We wanted to provide a loving home to a dog who really needed us. So, after a bad experience with a local rescue, we applied to DRC. They were amazing and matched us to our wonderful Murphy.
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
I definitely am interested in volunteering with DRC. Because we live in a condo, we can't foster, but I can help with lots of other things. I can provide administrative support...anything.

I Love The Music!

Is the music that plays when you open up the site new? I don't remember it from the prior site, but I really love it. It's all so relevant to the DRC message. I don't know who is responsible, but great job!

Hi, Jane. Thanks for leaving a thumbs up for me.  Well you're practically neighbors with my dad who lives in Burlington.  I grew up there and went to LS Mills HS.  Farmington was our big rival basketball team... in all the years I went to games we never beat Farmington once.

You're doodles are adorable. Put a smile on my face!  Please stop by and say hi again anytime!

Regards,

Patricia
