I found this today and wanted to share it as I thought it was so perfectly worded...(Really isn't a discussion topic and if I need to move it to a blog I will, just let me know Jac!)Continue

Greenville, SC
Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:
Spent three years as a Certified Handler for Canine Assistants, an organization that trains service dogs for those with special needs. Moved to South Carolina about 1 1/2 years ago, found the DRC and have been involved with "us" for over a year. Recently found Carolina Poodle Rescue and was volunteering with them and now am on staff with them.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs as an adult, with vet records in your own name (not parents' names)?
I have a beautiful black 4 year old labradoodle named Biddle and a 2 year old cutie pie Schnoodle named Ollie. Also a 14 year old tabby cat and a feral cat who I keep saying isn't mine but while saying it she is laying on my couch with my two dogs, as if she had lived here forever.
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
My Schoodle was supposed to be a goldendoodle that I found on the DRC's listings and drove 5 hours to bring home. Only when I got there I met this little black dog who had been so badly abused he wouldn't allow anyone to touch him and I said "give me the dog, my next one can be a doodle!" (In my research I had found out how hard black dogs were to adopt and figured this one had less a chance than most, where that golden goldendoodle was going to have no problem finding a home.)

My black labradoodle was a Craigslist "free to good home" ad. Only the lady who took her found out from the vet she was HW+ and decided she didn't want her. Fortunately, the vet clinic manager was a devoted CPR volunteer and brought her to us and she was so overwhelmed with all the changes I brought her home to foster... silly me... she stole my heart the first day and although I haven't officially adopted her yet, she ain't going nowhere!
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
My last year at Canine Assistance I met my first doodle - a wonderful goldendoodle named Butch (sister was Sundance). He stole my heart and not just mine as he became the spokesdog for CA because we couldn't stand to let him go! When I moved I cried many tears (7 months worth) before finally going online and finding the DRC and have been involved ever since. Since then, decided I was not going back to corporate america or office type work and took a year off to work with rescue which started with DRC and now has lead to a (slightly) paying job with Carolina Poodle Rescue! But I will always be devoted to and involved with the DRC!
