I am a wife (to Ed) and mother of 3 grown children. Kyle (26) is married and lives nearby. Haley (23) lives about an hour away. They both have two dogs each! Lauren (17) lives at home with us. She is a senior in high school and has a huge heart for animals. We own our home, located in a neighborhood approx. 35 miles north of Atlanta. I work from home running a tape-to-digital transfer service. My family and I love Doodles! We have a six-year-old Golden Doodle, Mickey. He is the youngest member of our family, and the best companion we could ever hope to have. We would love to find a brother or sister Doodle companion for him and as well as for our family. Mickey has friends to play with, but play dates are unfortunately few and far between. We are hoping Doodle Rescue Collective will help us find for Mickey a best buddy to play with and a permanent member of our family.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs in the past? Any other pets?
Yes, we have a dog. No other pets.
If you are looking to adopt a doodle, why have you chosen this mix?
After having one of our own and meeting many others, we appreciate their sweet and loving nature.... and they are a blast. We do realize that not all are alike and that it may take time for our new pal to adjust and show his personality once he/she has had time to get acclimated.
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
Not yet, and yes! I would love to volunteer!

Welcome to the DRC website. Here is a ‘must read’ article with information you should know before you apply to adopt a doodle: http://doodlerescue.org/forum/topics/information-for-anyone-interested-in-adopting-a-doodle. Here is a link to our adoption guidelines which include that you must have owned a dog before and also supply a vet reference. Please read the guidelines before filling out an application to make sure that you meet them. http://doodlerescueinc.ning.com/notes/DRC_ADOPTION_POLICIES_AND_PROCEDURES. The application itself is at the top of any page, but here is a link: http://doodlerescue.org/page/adoption-application-2. The application doesn’t obligate you in any way but it opens the lines of communication with the adoption coordinator. Quite often, a new dog who comes into the program is adopted before he/she is ever listed, because our adoption coordinator is aware of a good approved applicant who would be a good match for that dog. However once you have an approved application on file, if you see a dog under the DRC’s care (either on the DRC Facebook page, doodlekisses.com home page or on our home page) that you feel would be a good fit for your family, an e-mail can be sent to: email@example.com stating that there is an application on file and you would like to be considered for (name of dog).
When looking at the adoptable dogs here, Petfinder, or our FaceBook page, notice the two letters in front of the dog’s name mean the state they are being fostered in. While the DRC allows out of state applicants, they cannot transport the rescues and will not let them fly, so adopters need to be within driving distance to pick the dog up. We also have a FaceBook page where our fosters often post before the doodles are listed on PetFinder.
