Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:
I have a labradoodle who is wonderful. We rescued a goldendoodle a little over 6 years ago.You helped me find the rescue organization that had Ginger. Timmy and I drove to Illinois to pick her up. We loved her dearly and were very saddened when she passed - they believe it was cancer and we tried everything to save her but ended up having to do what was best for her. I know it can take some time to find a good match so I want to put my name in the hat and wait for the right fit.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs as an adult, with vet records in your own name (not parents' names)?
I have a ten and a half year old labradoodle named Timmy Dawg - Timmy for short. We adopted a 6 year old goldendoodle/labradoodle mix named Willow in May of 2018. She is a sweetheart.
If you are looking to adopt a doodle, why have you chosen this mix?
My experience with Timmy and Ginger has been wonderful! And now Willow as well
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
Yes
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
Yes
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
I do not have any children, I understand the rule. My dogs love children but Timmy does not always know to tame down his energy if a child was visiting.
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
I am not involved in rescue at this time - other than looking for one to rescue. I believe I may be interested in fostering at some point but need to learn a little more about it

I am desperately looking for a dog. I thought there was a great need for people who want to rescue a dog! But still, I feel like I’m getting a run around. I live in Virginia by the water and we have a large yard. We have friends who have a doodle and that is when I fell in love with them. It was a male who they named Louie which was not exactly a name I would think to name a dog but Louie was a happy, energetic loving dog. He’s a service dog because his owner is a Vietnam vet. He’s a joy.
He’s what made me fall in love with doodles . Can you help me find one?? Male or female. I Know They come from the small size Louie is or the size of a small pony!! These people who owned Louie were watching their kids doodles and they were huge!! Two of them!!

I can’t have a large one, but I would welcome the size of Louie who is about the size of a cocker spaniel.

Would you be so kind as to help me find one in need of a forever home??

Thank you so much,

Ginny Mileto

Hi Peggy....I saw that you expressed an interest in fostering and was wondering if you had an opportunity to complete a foster agreement? We are desperate for good fosters in TN and it looks like you would be a wonderful addition to our DRC volunteer family.

Ginger is/was progressing very nicely. She is a rescue that I got in mid July.

She has been trusted out of the crate for awhile now with no problem. Then last week she dug out a french drain under the deck while no one could see her. I am sure she was trying to get chipmunks. Today she chewed up a basket with an artificial plant in it. I am not sure why she did that as well as tore apart a cardboard box ready to go out to recycling. I discovered the drain too late to punish her. For…

New rescue

Yesterday I got a rescue from the Missouri flooding. She was being fostered in Illinois where they treated her mange and got her vaccinations. She was at a shelter for about 3 months where they cut tons of mats off of her. She has bare skin in many places I believe from the shelter. Her name is Ginger and she is very sweet. She used to be chained outside (at least that is what I understand) and at the fosters she was in a climate controlled kennel with their other dogs. Last night she sleep in… Continue
