Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:
We lost our Bichon-ish mix adopted family member, Casey, last October, and we're ready to give another small, fluffy, non-shedding dog a loving home.

We live in a 3-level condo with no backyard - we’ll have to take our next dog down the stairs and out to the front yard to potty, just like we did Casey.

Due to this, we’re seeking a small dog to have fun with us, go on walks, give and receive tons of love, etc. Our sweet Casey was 13lbs, and that’s really our perfect size. I also know small rescues are harder to find than large ones.

My husband and I are middle aged, work from home with lots of time and affection to offer a dog, and our daughter who visits often is 24 (and can’t wait for our next sweet furry family member!).

I look forward to your guidance how we might match up with the dog that needs us and we can give a great home to.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs as an adult, with vet records in your own name (not parents' names)?
We don't have a dog currently. But yes, as adults my husband and I adopted our Casey, a Bichon-ish mix 19 years ago when our daughter was 6 years old.
If you are looking to adopt a doodle, why have you chosen this mix?
Poodles are very smart and generally non-shedding. We lucked into our Bichon-ish mix, Casey, when we adopted her 19 years ago and she was non-shedding.
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
Yes
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
Yes
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
Yes
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
No

Hi Michelle, welcome to the DRC website.
We are primarily a labradoodle/goldendoodle rescue. While we do often take other LARGER Poodle mixes such as bernedoodles, sheepadoodles, etc., we never take the small "poo" mixes, such as maltipoos, cavapoos, etc. and rarely have dogs under 30 lbs., so it is very unlikely that you will find what you are looking for through our rescue. However, these dogs are often available through other rescues. One great resource would be Petfinder.com.

Good luck in your search.
