Where are you located?
Poinciana, FL 34759
Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:
Have a keen interest in adopting a 'doodle' preferably a full size (50-60)lbs and a young adult to middle age. We currently have a 6 year old mini golden doodle (32 lbs), Gigi, who we rescued 3 years ago. We also recently lost our dear sweet
Buddy Bear, a 8 year old standard labradoodle who was also a rescue that we had for 6+ years.

My wife and I live in a 55+ retirement community in central Florida. Our large lanai is fully enclosed and has a 24 hour accessible doggie potty area adjacent to the lanai. We also have a large community dog park which we typically visit 4-6 times per week. Access to the park is controlled and the residents must produce proof of current vaccinations.

Being retired we're home a majority of time and when traveling we typically travel in a RV with our puppies.

Our little Gigi misses her big brother, as do we, and we'd love to find a companion.
Tell us about your dog(s) and/or other pets that you have:
Have owned mulitple dogs, to include a female German Shepherd, Buddy Bear and Gigi. In the past we have had multiple cats, the last being a male named Ichabod who we had for 17+ years.
If you are looking to adopt a doodle, why have you chosen this mix?
Having had doodles, we love the intelligence, the affection and loyalty of the mixed poodle breeds, especially the ones mixed with Golden Retrievers and Labradors.
Have you read our adoption policies?
Yes and we are in agreement with them.
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
We do. Having had both a 50/50 and 75/25 mix we are aware that there is shedding, albeit minimal in our experience.
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
We do and that is not an issue.
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
Not actively, but would consider a future involvement.

Welcome Michael.  Thank you for your interested in DRC and adoption.  Take a look around the site and be sure to read the DRC Policies and Procedures http://doodlerescue.org/notes/DRC_ADOPTION_POLICIES_AND_PROCEDURES and let me know if you have any questions.  I have 2 doodles and 1 was adopted through DRC so I would be happy to help.

Welcome! Be sure to read the link to DRC ADOPTION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. http://doodlerescue.org/notes/DRC_ADOPTION_POLICIES_AND_PROCEDURES
You can fill out an application (form at the top of the page), check the Adoptable Pets on our home page. When you are looking at the Adoptable Pet pictures, notice that the two letters in front of the dog’s name mean the state they are being fostered in. While the DRC allows out of state applicants they cannot transport the rescues and will not let them fly, so you need to be within driving distance of the foster. Also click on the Doodles in Need section, and check Petfinder (putting in all zip codes within driving distance), and google in shelters and humane societies within your driving range. Check back often.
welcome to spring
