My husband and I are in our mid-50s and empty nesters. Our 13 year old terrier passed away in Dec 2021 and we miss having a furbaby in the house. We have a house with a large fenced in yard. Husband works from home and I am a stay home mom. We’re both fairly active people, and I would love to have a pup to take with me on my daily walks and to cuddle with me when Im on the sofa.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs as an adult, with vet records in your own name (not parents' names)?
We currently do not, but have had adult dogs for many years. Most recently a Terri pop for 13 years and previously 2 Labrador retrievers for 10 years.
If you are looking to adopt a doodle, why have you chosen this mix?
My husband grew up with retrievers and we have had 2 pure-bred labs before. I have allergies, a doodle would help me with managing my allergies.
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
