"Here is a January 2021 Dixie update. Dixie is now 11 years old and doing great!  Her buddy, Yogi, passed on 1/1/19.  Dixie missed him beyond words.  She was very dependent on him.  Her new buddy is the next door neighbor, Bear, a…"

Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:
Happily married, no human children. Our dogs are our children. We got two Labradoodle littermates from a "chicken farmer" in rural Kentucky in April 2008. Two weeks ago, Izzy developed an immune-related illness. Her immune system was attacking her mother plateletts, no t allowing her blood to clot. We did everything we could to save her, and she put up a hard fight, but we couldn't save her. Yogi and Izzy had never been separated. He is in mourning, and we want to find him a companion.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs as an adult, with vet records in your own name (not parents' names)?
Yogi, cream-colored Labradoodle. Christmas Day.
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
We "rescued them at 4-months from a "chicken farmer" in Kentucky. They had not been socialized or even out of their cage. Thjey were afraid of everything, even grass. We slowly thaught them about human love. They were doing great.

We previously had a Lab, until she died of old age at 14. We fell in love with the combination of Poodle/Lab or Poodle/Golden..
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
We hare here searching for a female Goldendoodle or Labradoodle companion for Yogi. We prefer a young dog under 3 years old. We also enjoy having two Doodles together. They seem happier.

We appreciate any help. Thank you.

I'm so sorry about your loss of Izzy. How devastating and only worsened by its' rapid onset. I think you'll find lots of good people here and hopefully Yogi's new best friend. Please submit your application as soon as possible and when you see a dog you might like to know more about, send us an email once your application to adopt has been filed.
Good Luck.
