I saw on Petfinder there is a labradoodle in the Pomona, NY shelter.  This is our local, no-kill shelter, but I was wondering what the procedure was for getting her out and possibly into a foster…Continue

I just saw this and was wondering if there was anything we can do....I'm in NY and can't get there.  I would be willing to foster, though.  I have no idea of the procedure of how to do this. …Continue

Profile Information

Where are you located?
Rockland County, New York
Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:
I reside in Stony Point with my husband, three adult children (all in college) and my two doodles, Bender & Emma. We don't need any help, just wanted to join to see if there was something we could do for you.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs as an adult, with vet records in your own name (not parents' names)?
Emma is our 5 yr old cream goldendoodle, rehomed to us when she from Florida when she was 18 mos old. Bender is our 4 yr old black labradoodle, rehomed to us through DRC in 2010 when he was two. We can't imagine life withouth these two wonderful dogs!
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
Both our dogs were re-homed to us, Emma from her prior family and Bender through DRC. We chose doodles as my husband doesn't seem to be allergic to them, even though Bender sheds like crazy.
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
Yes, we have one of those.
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
Yes
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
No

I hope the blizzard turns out to be minor rather than the blizzard of the century!  It is pretty easy to add pictures.  What I do is to drag a copy of the pictures I want to upload to a file on my desktop.  Then click on ADD PHOTOS (under your current slide show).  It will take you to a 'bulk uploader' where you can drag the entire file, click add (or whatever the word is) and the computer does the rest of the work.  Once they are done loading you can put them in an album or not. You can name them also. Click done (or whatever the word is) and you are done.  Easy actually.

Donna, I am glad you figured it out.  I am looking at your pictures right now.  What a stunning pair they make. I'll bet when you go places with them you get lots of attention.  When I was little I had two stuffed poodles (my favorite toys)  - one was black and one was white,  Your two make me smile and think of them.
