We are skiing to adopt a female Labradoodle. We are retired. I was an ICU RN and Rob was a professional athlete and business owner. We are fortunate to divide our time to winter in Scottsdale and summer in the Mountains in Flagstaff to enjoy year round outdoor activities.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs as an adult, with vet records in your own name (not parents' names)?
We recently lost our Lucy. Lucy was a shelter dog who was active and loved to walk, hike and go for rides in the car.
If you are looking to adopt a doodle, why have you chosen this mix?
Our history with many different dog breeds led us to the Doodles. We loved the loving nature of our Golden Retriever, Sophie. Sophie was followed by the adoption of our mixed breed Lucy. Lucy was aloof and cat liked. She was sweet but not allow cuddles which gave her the nick name “cuddles”. Lucy did not do well with other dogs and we missed the ability to go to the park and hang with other dog parents. We have friends who have a Golden doodle and the personality traits. We feel the personality, the enjoyment of socializing by getting along with most people and animals, and an active lifestyle is what we are seeking and the doodle breed would be a great fit.
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
Yes. Have read and submitted.
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
Yes. Aware and not a problem.
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
Yes. We are two adults seeking our next four legged family member.
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
We are currently not involved but would like to learn more.
