I am a goldendoodle owner, we LOVE THEM--His birthday is tomorrow and he will be 7. We have a home, a fenced in yard, children (over 12) and we'd love another dog.
Do you currently own a dog? If not, have you owned dogs in the past? Any other pets?
Well, we have 5 goldfish that are about 6 months old...and we have a 7 year old male black F1 fixed golden doodle and we have a mini schnauzer who is 3 years old (female-fixed).
Have you read our adoption policies, located under the "About DRC" tab?
We researched all over for years before getting a doodle and we knew that would be the perfect breed for us. No shedding, good personality, family dog, intelligent....PERFECT. and we searched breeders looking for one local and affordable...AND THEN, one day walking thru a mall we found one in a pet store. IT WAS NOT OUR PLAN, we know not to buy there, but we fell in love and he was 3 months old and needed a family....and they gave us a GREAT deal and we couldn't pass him up. We had the whole family there, we bonded, and it was one of the best moves we ever made! He was chipped, we had his breeder info, and they threw in the kennel, the bed, food, a leash and collar and 12 toys.....We fell in love with him and fall more in love with him daily.
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
YES--we know, that is why we PREFER the more curly ones.
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
No service work intended and yes, our twins are 12 AND THEY ARE GREAT WITH ALL DOGS. THey have gone with a friend to help find homes for rescues at pet smart--but there are never any doodles.
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
We have a close friend who does Yorkie rescues and we assist her whenever she needs help transporting --etc. Prior to our doodle...we (My husband and I--since we have been together) adopted all of our pets from the Bergen County Shelter (a shepard collie mix and 5 cats)We have donated supplies to the shelter several times and our 12 year old daughter organized her school to collect supplies and donate them to the shelter!!! (Dog and cat food, sheets and towels and blankets, cleaning supplies, food bowls etc.

Hi! Check the OUR ADOPTABLE DOODLES section. When you are looking at the pictures, notice that the two letters in front of the dog’s name mean the state they are being fostered in. While the DRC allows out of state applicants, they cannot transport the rescues and will not let them fly, so you need to be within driving distance of the foster. Here are some other ideas for finding a rescue doodle:
Click on the REGIONAL LISTINGS section for doodles with other organizations; PETFINDER (putting in all zip codes within driving distance); GOOGLE in shelters and humane societies within your driving range. Here is a helpful article on how to find a doodle on Petfinder and in shelters: http://doodlerescue.org/group/isadoodleforyou/forum/topics/looks-like-a-doodle-to water lily pond pictures
