I'm not sure how I missed this group before, but am glad I found it now! I am currently without a foster but Callie and I both look forward to our next fostering opportunity!

We are driving Cadi to Toledo to meet up with Ann from Lima who is going to foster her.

Kim, Did you find tranport for this little girl? Where is she being fostered? Have not heard if I need to help tranport across Ohio.

Diana...I too am about to lose my first foster on Saturday. Even though we only had her a week, it has been a wonderful week watching her get healthy and be able to stretch her legs after being penned in a cage that was too small. While Cadi (aka Petunia) is moving to her long term foster home I know she will soon be with her forever family and they will fall in love with her as we have. My biggest concern is how our doodle Clifford is going to react. This is his first foster sibling and while she has been "puppying" him all week, he has also bonded with her and looks out for her. She's been a playmate for him and he likes her whether he admits it or not! I can't wait to see how she grows up.

Lots of people ask me , "how can you give them up?" And I tell them exactly what Sheri and Jeannine said, that their forever homes are where they are meant to be. And knowing that we added to that joy by rescuing them, loving them and helping them to be the wonderful dogs we all know they can be - that is what makes it all worthwhile. I, too, have thought about keeping almost everyone of my fosters, but the downside is with 4 of my own dogs, I could not keep pulling, transporting and fostering. And I can't even imagine that!! So, we say our tearful goodbyes and pray that we have made a good choice for each dog and wait patiently for the next "love of our lives". Thanks for being part of the DRC team!!

Diane .... Welcome to the wonderful world of fostering! I think that you will know on Saturday when you see her with her new family that you did the right thing by letting her go and making room in your home to save another. With each foster that has left my home there has just been this feeling inside my heart of pure joy knowing that a new family is now going to experience the "doodle love" that we all experience each and every day. I have yet to cry when they leave, it is when I get those first pictures of them in their new home surrounded by love that normally breaks me down! And those are of course always "happy" tears!

Oh Diana, I know the rollercoaster! I just let go of Fitz on Sunday and it was so hard! But now that I've seen pictures with his new makes me happy!

my first foster leaves on Sat to her forever home. She was a wonderful loving labradoodle. It was a roller coaster, she was so loving that I thought about keeping her, but after talking to Adrianne I realized I wanted to help more dogs, so it was ok to let her go! Can't wait for my next challenge!
Thanks DRC for all you do for these wonderful loving dogs.

I might be a little prejudice but I know Molly can be a little charmer. I love that picture of Jack and Molly too
